In a centuries-old ritual known as Alms gathering, over 200 monks walk the streets of Laos at the break of dawn each day. Local residents line the streets, offering rice to the monks as their daily food. Nita and I were fortunate to witness this tradition in the town of Luang Prabang. Despite being in a communist country, this quaint town remains relatively unscathed by the main tourist influx and is worth visiting if you’re seeking a glimpse of the past.
