J.M. Barrie once said, “The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it.” Today, Nita and I embarked on our journey and landed in Toronto, where it’s currently -2°C. Surprisingly, it feels warmer than it did in Victoria and there’s no rain!
Here’s a lesson I learned on day one: When researching TSA border rules online, make sure you read the Canadian TSA site. Not all TSA sites are created equal! I followed the US site, not realizing there are multiple TSA sites, and it said I could bring 1 quart of liquids. However, the Canadian site says 1 litre. I showed up with a quart and was informed by a uniformed official that I was overstocked with liquids. If you know me well, you’d know that I’ve had this problem for a while now. Unfortunately, Nita hates embarrassing moments, especially at 5 am in the morning. Needless to say, the TSA search left me in a not-so-good state for the flight ahead.
Have a great week, everyone! I’ll touch base with you all next week when I find a good pub in London. Hopefully, they’ll know the difference between a quart and a litre. And who knows, travel lesson number 2 might come up by then.
